Sie wuchs zusammen mit fünf Geschwistern in Neuses am Berg auf, wo die Eltern Johann und Else Reus als Landwirte und Winzer lebten. Nach dem Besuch der Volksschule besuchte sie die landwirtschaftliche Berufsschule in Dettelbach, die sie als Hauswirtschafterin abschloss.";
