var short="Die Communität Casteller Ring lädt zum Neujahrskonzert am Mittwoch, 1. Januar. In der St. Michaelskirche findet das Konzert unter dem Titel „In the beginning God“ mit Musik von Johann Sebastian Bach und Duke Ellington statt. Es spielen laut Pressemitteilung Lauren Franklin-Steinmetz am Violoncello und Uwe Steinmetz am C-Sopransaxophon und Altsaxonphon. Lauren Franklin-Steinmetz, geboren in Jacksonville, Florida, arbeitete als Cello-Solistin und mit internationalen Kammermusikensembles. Seit 2012 entdeckt und erforscht sie Third Stream und improvisierte Musik und genießt die Ensemblearbeit mit Europäischen Jazzmusikern. Uwe Steinmetz arbeitet als Komponist, Saxophonist und Dozent und erhielt nationale und internationale Auszeichnungen für seine künstlerische Arbeit. Seit 2015 forscht er zusätzlich an den Universitäten Göteborg, Leipzig und Oxford über das liturgische Potential von Jazz und entwickelt liturgische Jazzformate in Kirchen. Das Konzert beginnt um 19.30 Uhr, der Eintritt ist frei, Spenden sind willkommen.";
